My long time collaborator (and lovely partner) Mariell was approached by Pepsi to be a representative for their Taste of Texas campaign in 2020. Having worked with her for a year at this point, she specifically requested for me to be the photographer on this lifestyle shoot. It was my first major campaign and to do it during the pandemic was nerve racking to say the least. But armed with a single strobe and the clients on zoom, we came out with some of my personal favorite images I’ve taken to date. Everything we shot was was genuine, the clients were having as much as we were. Mariell and I shot what we needed, and then began to improvise, and those ended up being the images Pepsi used. There’s an incredibly magic when everyone is on the same wavelength, something I have strived for in every shoot since.
